Booker Howze is a professional artist living in Creedmoor, North Carolina. Born in Charleston WV he received his Associates Degree from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and Bachelors of Fine Arts from Kent State University.
He was motivated to draw by teachers and family, as well as the distinct pencil strokes of his cousin’s sketchbooks. At the age of 14, his brother encouraged him to enter a drawing contest presented by National Record Mart. Although he was apprehensive to enter the contest at first, he finally agreed and won second place. This was the beginning of his interest in the arts as an occupation.
Booker’s career has covered many professions such as a Patent Illustrator, Graphic Designer, Publications Coordinator, Freelance Artist, and Art Director. He has created illustrations and designs for advertisements, annual reports, directories and editorials.
